I met two lovely sisters ruchika & rachna who decided embark to kutch, Ruchika a textile designer, rachna a software engineer by profession. After quitting her corporate job he USA was on a journey to India to research & find out the social structure of women inorder to develop a business model which would impact & contribute to the empowerment of women in India.
On the other hand rachna with her experience in textiles had explored earlier on a project with the jodhpur blockprinters & was eager to know more about the ajrakh block printers of Kutch as they stumbled upon our blog
After understanding the travelers interest i design the craft tour in the most unique way making sure they can take back more than they expected. I had a lovely time with these young ladies watching interacting with some local artisans, meeting ngos, relishing local food, sunsets with shyamji bhai in bhujodi kutch, capturing childrens costumes & accesorries, bumping into a newly wed bride and endless adventures…..
i tell you ever journey is unique as unique people join us every year ….
.
The trip to Kutch was simply amazing. Too much to write in a few words. Neha was greatly helpful in arranging the trip and the visit to the artisans. We got to go around knowing we were in good hands. I would highly recommend the craft tour for craft lovers all over.
