Going National!

December,13 2010
a month ago i received an email popped in my inbox from Dr.A.J.A Ranjit Singh, associate professor & head at Sri Paramakalyani College, Alwarkurichi invitation to participate at national level brainstorming sessions on science & technology interventions in traditional crafts held at alwarkurichi. This was completely a new area for me the later words only made sense to accept the invitation & travel meet new people, food, cultures always gives me immense pleasure. The entire trip to my surprise was an overwhelming response. Crafts men &women poured with their age old crafts from all neighboring villages during this two day session from nearby villages of alwarkurichi, kanyakumari,Tamil Nadu.

Experts ,scientists, scholars from all over India made presentations on how science & technology can intervene & help traditional craftsmen. What touched me the most was people’s love & interest in knowing more about matsya.

the two day session was a complete exposure to the rich art, crafts, culture & traditions of Trinurvelli & alwarkurichi in Tamilnadu ,India. The lush green paddy fields, water falls, local food, people & their warmth makes me feel proud of the rich heritage, ancient crafts & traditions India has,

thanks Dr.Ranjit Singh & Department of Science & Technology Government of India of giving me to present matsya at a national level.
