Urban Block Printer

May,14 2012

Blocks , Blocks & blocks every where. A house full of them, with printing beds, colours & fabrics. Meet Shyamala Rao, a passionate urban block printer, who narrates stories on blocks collected from all over India.

While talking to her, about her impressive collection of hand carved wooden blocks, she shared how she designed & developed some interesting blocks with the artisans and explained how difficult it was with changing times to find authentic craftsmanship nowadays…

Her enthusiasm is not limited to block printing….but many antique collectibles from India as well.

We’d like to invite you for a hands on workshop & who knows what’s in store for you at the workshop.

The lovely photographs are clicked by Sneha Nikam who learns, explores & experiments at matsya.

For further costs/details about the workshop email us on neha@matsyacrafts.com
